Why are there three organizations named ERETAI?
Because ERETAI is one community served by three organizations, each answering to someone different. The community is the graduates, students, and faculty of the U.S. military’s planning and strategy schools (SAMS, SAASS, SAW, MAWS, JAWS, BSAP, and JADS) and the planners of JECC. The ERETAI Foundation answers to that community and to the public that educated it. The ERETAI Institute will answer to the mission of carrying the planning discipline beyond national defense. The ERETAI Group, the firm on this site, answers to its clients. Put any two under one roof and one bends the other, so each has its own job and its own reason to exist. The vision is three separate entities united in a singular purpose. Today, The ERETAI Group, LLC operates, the Foundation is in formation, and the Institute’s first programs are planned for 2027.
What does “ERETAI” mean?
In ancient Greek, the eretai were the oarsmen of a trireme: unseen, synchronized, and essential. No single rower could move the ship alone. Our closing words come from them: Row well and live.
What does The ERETAI Group do?
It helps leaders turn vision and intent into direction their teams can actually execute, three ways. Consulting turns a leader’s intent into a plan the team owns. Conduit introduces experienced planners and strategists, out of uniform, matched to your project. Coaching expands the way leaders think about wicked problems.
Is The ERETAI Group operating today?
Yes, since 2025. It also operates ERETAI Connect for the community until The ERETAI Foundation is formed.
What do we receive at the end?
A written plan, a decision brief, and a roadmap your team can run with. We deliver plans and recommendations; execution belongs to the people who know your operations best.
What happens on an Alignment Call?
A free, 30-minute conversation about your vision and what stands between it and a plan. No pitch. You will know by the end of one conversation whether we can help, and so will we.
Can government agencies and prime contractors work with you?

Where do your planners come from?
From the schools that teach the discipline: experienced planners and strategists, out of uniform. Conduit opportunities will be posted inside ERETAI Connect on the same terms as any organization’s, and will reach only members who have said they are open to consulting work.
Does The ERETAI Group speak for the Department of Defense or the schools?
No. The ERETAI Group is independent of, and not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by, the Department of Defense, the military departments, National Defense University, or any school named on this site. School names identify the education our members received.
